I really did like and respect Sam Moreno. He lived the Christian life in all that he did. My hunch is that his naval WW 2 experience was formative on the life he led. May Sam's soul rest in heaven and please care for his family: Ron Morrison

Sam was the first interpreter that I met when I began working at the Federal Courthouse in Dallas seven years ago. We discovered that we shared a love of tennis and there were many a phone call that began with the intent of scheduling an interpreter but ended with discussion of our latest tennis match. I was blessed to have been Sam's pastor and occasional tennis doubles partner for 4 years, and in both of those roles, I thoroughly enjoyed our friendship. I learned much from our conversations, both on and off the court. We shared an affection for the Spanish language, so our conversations were frequently all in Spanish. My prayer is that the comforting grace of Jesus be with Jeannie and family.
