Sara was a great "dame" with an wonderful smile and great laugh. She will truly be missed.
Sara was a great influence in my career and a special person to get to know during the process. I was her secretary for many years and loved and respected her very much. She had a way of teaching you without you knowing it was a lesson. I miss her very much. God Bless her loving family.
Sara was my mother's favorite cousin. She has many fond memories of Sara, her two brothers and her playing together as kids. Sara was an integral part of my childhood and young adulthood as well. When I was a student at SMU in the early 80s, Sara often included invited me along with her family to Sunday lunch. Sara was visiting our family in West Helena when my grandmother, her aunt, passed away. She was of tremendous comfort to me during that time. I always admired Sara for being a self-made woman, someone who put herself through college and graduate school, and was a female executive long before it was commonplace for females to be accepted in such positions. I admired and loved her very much, My prayers to Ida and family.
I remember Sara fondly and recall in great detail how I met her at my very first ABWA meeting. Sara was the President of the Charisma Charter Chapter and I shall never forget the command she had at that podium. Poised, professional and confident. I just knew I could never have that air about me – not as she did. That was in February of 1992. In the fall of 2004 we all went to the National Conference in Richmond, VA to do the promotion for our national conference the next fall (2005). After we were finished, Sara made it a point to tell everyone how proud she was of me. That was a real moment for me and gave me a true sense of accomplishment. She didn't throw that stuff around lightly. Dear Sara, thank you for that moment and for your guidance and candor and most of all for being a wonderful mentor to me. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of our Dear Sarah. Sarah left such legacy. She was a great mentor who will be forever in our hearts. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Sara's family.
You will always remain in my heart, dear friend and mentor. Lovely lady in everything you did and will be missed.
Sara emanated a confidence and strength that few could match. She was dedicated to ABWA and to our Chapter. She was a mentor to several and a good friend to the rest. We loved our Sara!
The loss of an ABWA sister is like losing a close family member. Sarah Crawford was a highly respected member of American Business Women's Association. She will be missed greatly by those she mentored. May her family find comfort in God's warm embrace. God Bless.
