Satish Krishnaji Dengle's Obituary
Satish Krishnaji Dengle, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. Satish was born on October 28, 1946 in Mumbai, India, and graduated from IIT (Mumbai) with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1969. After graduation, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 22 where he continued his education earning a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University, a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UT Southwestern. He settled in Dallas, Texas and worked for more than 25 years at Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was affectionately known as Duke. He led the department of engineering for the last decade of his career. In 1973, Satish and Carol met while folk dancing. They were husband and wife and best friends for 37 years. Satish was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by those who called him husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Krishnaji and Kamala Dengle and Carol’s parents, Red and Louise Wilson. Satish is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter, Mishall Hereford and her husband, John; his daughter, Lauren Dengle; his son, Jonathan Dengle; his brother, Shashank Dengle; his grandchildren, Andrew and Tessa Hereford; and his nephews, Samir and Sunni Dengle. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law that cherished him dearly, loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and honorary family members. A celebration of Satish’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7th, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Women’s Building at Fair Park, 3800 Parry Avenue, Dallas, TX 75226. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Because education was important to Satish, his family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Pratham USA at www.prathamusa.org.
