Stanley V. Preskitt's Obituary
Stanley Varney Preskitt left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, after living with us for 94 years. Born in Seminole, Oklahoma on November 13, 1920, to Varney and May Elizabeth Preskitt, he married Mary Ruth Shoemaker on August 26, 1944, and they were married 66 years before her passing on January 16, 2011. Stan is survived by his daughter Maureen Cleveland and husband Bill; his son Dr. John Preskitt and wife Rebecca; his son Randy Preskitt and wife Pam; six grandchildren, William Cleveland, Matthew Cleveland, Elizabeth Preskitt, John Preskitt, Jr., Charles Preskitt, and Brian Preskitt; beloved sister Joyce Ruminer, niece Joy Kitely; niece Judy Jones and husband Elvin; 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Highlands Christian Church, 9949 McCree Road, Dallas, Tx, on July 11, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. A reception will be held at the church immediately after the service. Stan and Mary will be interred together on Monday July 13, 2015, in a family service at DFW National Cemetery, in recognition of his service in the US Army Air Forces as a decorated Staff Sargent Radio Operator Mechanic Gunner on a B-17 in World War II.
