Stephen Randal Norris' Obituary
Stephen Randal Norris, also known as Randy, passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 77 in Medical City Plano. He was born on April 12, 1946, in Dallas, Texas. Randy was a loving husband to Giselle, a devoted father to his son Jeff Norris and daughter Holly Walls (Buddy), and a proud grandfather to Riley and Colby Norris, and Quinn and Callie Walls. He is also survived by his sister, Carla Harris (Calvin), his niece Robyn Carrillo (Vince), and his nephew Calvin Harris (Kendall). Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jo Norris, of Rowlett, Texas.
Randy had a vibrant personality and an infectious love for life. He was known for his fun-loving nature and his passion for sports, particularly golf. Randy was an avid golfer and cherished every opportunity to play. He was also a fan of The Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Stars. Randy had a genuine love for people and always conducted himself as a true gentleman.
In his earlier years, Randy served his country as a Vietnam veteran, completing two tours of duty. He also served in Antarctica as a Navy Seabee. Randy's dedication and commitment to his military service were commendable.
Following his military service, Randy had a distinguished career. He retired from the Dallas Police Department in 1992 after 22 years of service. He then became an honorable 32nd degree Mason and a member of the East Dallas Masonic Lodge. Randy continued his career as a Criminal Investigator in Family Violence at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office until his retirement in 2008 after 15 years of service.
Randy found solace and community at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where he worshipped.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Randy's life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Memorial Chapel at Restland in Dallas. Visitation is at 1:00 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm.
Randy's zest for life, his dedication to his country, and his commitment to his career and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a passion for living life to the fullest.
