Stephen Robert Williams' Obituary
Stephen R Williams, age 75, died of natural causes on July 19, 2017, in Plano, Texas. Steve was born April 7, 1942, in Norman, Oklahoma to Wayne and Willie Jo Williams. He attended Wilson Elementary, Norman High school, and the University of Oklahoma graduating with a degree in Electrical engineering. While at OU he became a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Upon graduation, he was employed as an Engineer with NASA in Houston working on the LM team which designed the gear for the first lunar landing. Upon leaving the space program he was employed at Texas Instruments in Richardson, Texas. He later moved back to Norman, Oklahoma as an Engineer with Westinghouse Corporation. Leaving Westinghouse he began a career as a Consulting Engineer in Oklahoma City and Plano, Texas. Steve is survived by partner Laura Kennedy, brother Gary Williams and children Angelica Lynne Williams, Heidi Beth Olinghouse, Holly Sue Stengel, Stephen Robert Williams II, and grandchildren Brooklyn Paige Stengel and Kinley Faith Stengel, and many wonderful friends. Steve was a devoted father and partner to the love of his life Laura Kennedy. One of the greatest joys of his later years was being a member of The Vocal Majority, a world recognized Dallas men’s chorus of over 150 singers, a dedicated brotherhood of men which will hold a Memorial service in Steve’s honor Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 6:00 pm at Riverside Church of Christ in Coppell, Texas.
