Suzanne Blaney's Obituary
Suzanne Scarborough Blaney, born in Houston Texas on September 16, 1943, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2016 after her year long battle with breast cancer, with Forrest Allan Blaney, her husband of 43 years, by her side. Suzanne is preceded in death by her mother, Laura Mae Fowler and her father, George Benston Scarborough. She is survived by her husband Forrest Blaney, her brother Barry Scarborough, her son Austin Blaney and his wife Sara and their sons Duke and Baxter and her daughter Erin Blaney Ragsdale and her husband Kyle and their children Lauren and Gavin. Suzanne was a public school teacher for more than 30 years, teaching English at Marsh Middle School in Dallas ISD for more than 20 of those years. After retiring in 2012, Suzanne volunteered twice a week as a docent at the George W. Bush Presidential Library. Suzanne loved her alma mater, the University of Michigan, her children’s alma mater, Texas A&M, the Dallas Cowboys, reading, water color painting, anything having to do with England and the United States military. Most importantly, Suzanne loved her husband, children and friends dearly. Suzanne’s family will receive friends in the chapel at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Avenue on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service for Suzanne will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 14740 Meandering Way, Dallas on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
