From His neighbor Sam Canales
Here’s my Ted memory………
My name is Sam Canales, Ted’s next door neighbor of several years.
For a long time, we never talked much, just happened to be neighbors.
Then in December, 2019, just as the “Covid” business was starting, I found myself in the position of needing a ride to the hospital for surgery.
Not really knowing Ted, I reluctantly asked him for the favor and he graciously agreed.
“That” was load off my mind. It was a favor I would never be able to repay.
The day after surgery, while in the “Recovery-Room” for a few days, and before a week of rehab, who shows up to see if I am ok - - Ted!
I was flabbergasted! Here is a man who doesn’t know me, with a bad wheel, in his mid-eighties, having to locate the Recovery Room in the hospital complex just to check-up on me.
This was so above the call of duty.
So when Gladys said I was a good neighbor, after I told her Ted was a good neighbor, I felt at a loss for words of condolence.
If I am a good neighbor, it was by watching Ted.
More importantly, he was a good neighbor, because he was a Good Man.
