Dr. Terry M. Perkins' Obituary
Dr. Terry M. Perkins: A Full Life Lived
Terry Mac Perkins born on April 17, 1935, peacefully passed away on July 3, 2025, having lived a life rich with love, friends, and family.
A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Terry married his sweetheart, Janie on August 23, 1954, and moved to Texas A & M where he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1960. Terry, Janie and their three children, Kelley, Todd and Kenneth moved to Richardson Tx. in 1965 where he built Arapaho Road Animal Clinic and began his practice. For an incredible 60 years he dedicated himself to caring for generations of animals and their owners as a cherished part of his extended family. He possessed an instant likeability, a friendly and considerate nature, and a quick, dry humor that could spark a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Terry will be remembered and missed by many.
All his life was built for and shared with his little junior high sweetheart and so beloved wife of 67 years, Janie, who passed in 2021. Together, they built an extraordinary life, a testament to their deep love and unwavering devotion. Their shared journeys took them across continents, seas, and cultures for over 50 years, exploring the world from top to bottom, left to right. Their journey together was a beautiful story of companionship and enduring affection. An amazing love and model to all, a Full life lived. May they be joined together in glory and enter the everlasting peace of Jesus Christ, hand-in-hand.
Terry was a devoted father to his three children, Kelley, Todd, and Kenneth (deceased). He leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by his daughter Kelley Perkins Owen and her children, Jonathan Owen (with his children Jordyn and Kyle) and Hillary Owen (with her husband Jay Alexander and their children Charles, Walter, Elizabeth, and Remy). His son Todd Perkins and his wife Susi will continue to cherish his memory, along with their children Samantha (and her husband Kevin Duerr). Colin Perkins (and his wife Brett and their son Travis), and Lauren (and her husband Zach Pendergrass and their daughter Sawyer). He is also survived by Kenneth's wife Debra and their son James Perkins (and wife Caroline and their son Brody). Terry's brother, Ray Perkins and his wife Lyn, along with their daughter Carrie and her husband Eric Licatovich, will all miss him.
