Scooter was quite a gentleman and horseman. Always ready to lend a hand even when his hands were full. This was exemplary trait among the Oddson family, all of them. Their influence contributed greatly to my maturity and being what I am today. A truly exemplary citizen. God bless them all. Pray that God will forever bless us with people like the Oddsons
Terry, I am so sorry to hear about Tex Jr., Scooter to me. I'm not sure if you remember me, but I am Dr. E.R. Cox's youngest daughter, Maggie. I loved your dad and your brother – what fine men they were. Always ready to visit and give good horse advice. As a child, my years at White Rock Stables were wonderful! Then when my daughter, Kelly, became a teenager, we had a horse at the stables and I got to enjoy your family all over again. Condolences to you and Scooter's girls and grand kids. I hope to be at the service on Thursday. Scooter talked to me often about his injuries in Vietnam. I thank him for his service. Maggie Cox
Thank you, Tex, for all you did for a scared, grief-stricken teenager with severe family troubles. Your listening ear and kind advice will always be appreciated. Tex you and your horsemanship will be missed. You and a few other classmates are the only ones who attended all twelve years in Richardson School System with me. May hour family have peace and comfort in this time of sorrow. Charlie McElyea
Tex, you will be forever missed. Your passing brings to an end an era like no other for me. Beginning in elementary school, White Rock Stables was my second home, as it was for so many, many others. Our rides to Flag Pole Hill, our talks about our service in Vietnam, our trips around the country to miniature horse shows with Renegade and Toy- these were all highlights in my life. I think Maggie says it for all of us. Scooter was my first crush when I rode at White Rock in the 4th grade. When I saw him a few months ago in the big barn I told him that. Being the gentleman he always was, he responded " I wish I'd known!". Terry, I'm so sorry for your loss as well as the rest of his family. God bless him…he's with his Mom and Dad now along with all the great horses they took such wonderful car of, including my Chocolate Champion!
Sorry to hear about Tex. I knew Tex when he attended Texas Tech. Tex and I roomed together for a semester, and we lived on the same wing in Carpenter Hall for several years. He was always fun and a great friend. My family and I moved to Lewisville in 1990, and my daughter wanted to ride a horse. I remembered that Tex had the White Rock Stables so contacted him. He told me that he wasn't renting horses, but invited us out to visit the stables which we did. I wild always remember Tex as a gentleman and a friend Richard B urkett
