Thaddeus Jerry Babcock's Obituary
December 28, 1930-July 25, 2021
Thaddeus Jerry Babcock passed away peacefully at Crystal Creek, an assisted living facility. He was a kind, loving, thoughtful, and caring soul. He was born in Webster Grove, Missouri, to Russell M. Babcock and Maureen Moore and graduated with degrees in finance and accounting from U.T. Austin. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954.
He served as Jr. Vice-President of Gilbert X-ray and Secretary/Treasurer of Graphics International, Inc., a printing company. He is survived by his spouse, Suzanne Babcock; his sister, JoAnn Karrick and husband Chester; and niece, Kim Zrubek and husband Scott; son Mark R. Babcock and daughter Chris Babcock and grandchild Isabelle Margolis. His step-children include Mary Ross and husband Rusty, James M. Geron (Jim) and wife April; and step-grandchildren Ryan Ross and wife Courtney, Luke Ross, and James M. Geron III (Trip); step-great grandson, Lawson Ross. Jerry was also close to Suzanne’s brothers and their wives: Hayes and Kay Pitts (Austin) and Dr. Ed and Jennifer Pitts (Houston).
He loved Suzanne, bowling, fishing, gardening, and travel. Jerry treasured traveling with Suzanne to Greece, Australia and New Zealand, China and Japan, Spain and Portugal, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Norway and the Arctic Circle, South America and Antarctica, Bora Bora and Tahiti, Cabo, Little Dix Bay and the Caribbean Islands, plus 28 cruises.
At Restland, visitation will be Friday, August 6 from 3-5 p.m., and a funeral service for family and close friends will be Saturday, August 7 at 2 p.m. in the Abbey Chapel in the Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church.
