Val A. Bell's Obituary
Val was born March 1, 1936 in New Orleans, LA. She attended Holy Angels Academy and St. Mary’s Dominican College. Her struggle to live a quality life ended Sept 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her mother Irene Aprill and her sister Mary Lynne Dean. Val is survived by her beloved husband Brooks; beautiful daughters Jennifer and husband Bill Draheim of Rockwall, Amy and husband Clayton Mace of Plano; 3 adored grandchildren Stewart Draheim, Loren and Ashley Mace; and cousin Carroll and husband Jack Devine of Arlington. Brooks and Val loved their life together. Their home was the centerpiece of their life and much laughter went on in their home. They absolute insisted on enjoying life. Val’s children and grandchildren and their accomplishments were the greatest and deepest delights of her life. Val was a friend of Bill W for nearly 37 years. She treasured her friends deeply, was loyal to her commitments and was devoted to her family. A Celebration of Val’s Life will be held Friday 12:30pm at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Dallas Intergroup Association or your favorite charity.
