Veta Lou Simmons' Obituary
Veta Lou Simmons was born on October 7, 1930 in Milwood Texas and died at age 90 on October 2, 2021 at her residence in Dallas Texas.
Her parents, who preceded her in death were Henry Z Watkins and Cora Emeline Watkins. Also preceding her in death, were 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her Husband John Simmons, Daughter Lori Brookins and Husband Chigger Brookins, Son John Simmons Jr. and Wife Lindsey Simmons, and Son Scott Simmons and Wife Pam Simmons. Also Grandchildren, Stacy Mackey, Stephanie Mackey, Shelly Mackey, Chris Currieer, Kendra Bellinger , Ryan Simmons, John Simmons III, Hunter Simmons and seven Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Veta Lou Simmons will be held on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 2:00pm at Wildwood Chapel Restland cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation and viewing with the family will be held one hour before the funeral at 1:00pm.
Veta was married to John on September 2, 1950 and enjoyed 71 years of marriage together. She was a lifetime member of PTA and participated as a Campfire Girl Leader, Den Mother, Boy Scout leader, Charter member of Casa Linda Methodist Church and current member of Lake Highlands Methodist Church. Veta lived her life as a servant.
