Vickie Newman was a can-do, positive person. We were distantly related to the Newmans through marriage, so we saw them every few years.
Vickie and Jim were a solid, loving partnership. They displayed an astonishing variety of talents. Did your couch need re-holstering? They could do that! Did you need to add a room to your house? They could do that! I joked that about the only thing Jim and Vickie couldn't do was perform brain surgery. And given time for research, probably they would have learned how to do that, too.
Vickie had a sweet temperament. I never saw her without a welcoming smile on her face. She and Jim instilled a devotion for family in their children and grandchildren. I think Vickie would have been wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.
