Dear Dan & Paul, Vince is such an inspiration to me. His accomplishments as a man, a Father, a Veteran, an Entrepreneur, a Philanthropist, inspire me to pursue honorable achievements in life. Dear Dan and Paul, It was truly an honor to know your dad and I am greatly saddened by his passing. I have many great memories of visiting with him and your mom when I was at their home swimming, playing basketball, eating everything in the house, and going into their attic and stepping through the ceiling (fortunately it was only my foot that came through). In spite of this impromptu "remodeling" of his home, your dad always made me feel welcome there. When I was thinking about attending law school, Mr. Rego put me in touch with his attorney, who helped me find a summer job at a prestigious law firm. As a mere undergraduate, without his help, I would have had no idea how to pursue such a position. I've always been grateful to him for that. Mr. Rego was of course a brilliant entrepreneur whose accomplishments are an inspiration to many. But just as importantly, he was a great husband and father, a principled man whose values shone through in the way he lived his life. When I was younger, I felt he was the kind of guy one should emulate. Now that I'm older, I feel that way even more strongly.
It was my plesure to meet Mr & Mrs Rego back in the 60's. I enjoyed visiting with them at my sister & brother-in-law's (Joe & Imogene Gibson) annual fish fry. My husband was also with the 101st airborne which gave us much to talk about. He will be missed by many,as his wife, Dorothy is also missed.
I worked for Mr. Rego "Vinny" here @ Encore Wire since 7/10/2000. I never met such a wonderful and caring man. He has a heart of gold. He was always making everyone laugh and loved playing poker. I am thankful for meeting such a wonderful blessing to this company. He will be missed by many here and around the world! Rest in peace, Erma Solis
We have wonderful memories of Vince and we feel fortunate to have known him. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Paul and Dan.
