Virginia held a very special place in my heart. I first met her while volunteering at Medical City of Plano, where she was in charge of training me. What began as a professional introduction quickly blossomed into a meaningful friendship. After school, I would look forward to spending time with her—she was truly the sweetest lady.
We connected deeply during our shifts, and I soon found myself feeling protective of her, especially in the face of unruly hospital guests. She often spoke lovingly of her children and grandchildren, and she always had a nonfiction book on hand that she enjoyed sharing thoughts about. One of her simple joys was handing out cookies to staff and visitors—just one example of her thoughtful, generous spirit.
When COVID hit, we kept in touch by phone for a while, but life eventually pulled me away and I lost her number. Still, the time I spent with her remains incredibly dear to me. She was like a grandmother to me, and the memories we made together are ones I’ll always cherish.
I’m heartbroken to come across this news while searching for her. My deepest condolences to her family. She made a lasting impact on my life, and I will never forget her kindness.
