Wanda Jean Potts Justiss' Obituary
Wanda Jean Potts Justiss, age 92, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Wanda was born October 11, 1925 to Clyde and Myrtle Potts at 212 W. Marble Street in 1925 Wylie, TX. Her grandparents Samuel and Eliza Potts moved to Wylie in 1898 where eventually four generations of the family would reside in Wylie. Christened at the Wylie Methodist Church March 7, 1926 she was the first baby to be christened in the new Methodist church in Wylie. She graduated from Wylie High School in 1942 and later moved to Dallas to work for an insurance company.Wanda married Harry A Justiss June 14, 1946. They resided in Oak Cliff before moving to the Casa View area after their first son was born. She was a stay at home mom often caring for other children in her home. She and Harry were charter members of Casa Linda United Methodist Church where she attended regularly until entering an assisted living facility. Wanda was active in the church as a young mother with Vacation Bible School and other children activities. She was a member of the Coffee Cup Sunday School class and participated with that group in various functions.In addition to her thoughtful loving nature she will be remembered by her family as a wonderful cook, always preparing everyone’s favorite for holiday meals. It always made her happy to have something ready for you to eat if you came by to see her. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Harry A Justiss, and survived by her three sons and daughter-in-law Larry Justiss, Ricky and Margaret Justiss and Kent Justiss, her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, February 1st from 6:00-8:00 pm at Restland of Dallas. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 am in the Memorial Chapel at Restland of Dallas.
