Wanda Eudena Sewell's Obituary
Eudena was born on a cold, wintery day on November 28, 1932 in Love County, Oklahoma to Bartie Lee and Evaglen Barfield. The little bundle brought warmth to her older brother and her parents and relatives. She graduated from Greenville High School and was well known throughout the county for her basketball prowess. She then graduated from Business College and moved to Marietta, Oklahoma to work for the County Agent. There she met her husband to be. They married on March 20, 1954 and enjoyed over 63 years of married life. They raised two daughters, Kadena and Kanette. Kadena preceded her mother in death. Kanette married the love of her life, Walt Grasse. Eudena worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and banker until the first daughter was born, then she assumed the critically important role of homemaker and loving mother. She suffered from pancreatic cancer for 11 months before succumbing on May 2, 2017. During that time, she was treated by the wonderful, caring staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Cancer Center and hospital. She loved them and they loved her. She is survived by her husband, Ken Sewell, daughter Kanette Grasse, and son-in-law Walt Grasse and a few hearty cousins, nephews and nieces.
