Wanda Lee Sharpe's Obituary
Wanda Lee Shapre born on February 8, 1934 in Garretts Bluff, TX and passed away on December 13, 2015 in Plano, TX. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Leon Sharpe; parents, Acie Leonard Cooper and Vee Anna Smith Cooper. Wanda is survived by children, David Ray Sharpe and finance Brenda Thompson; Joseph Lee Sharpe and wife Laura; Susan Sharpe Brinker; grandchildren, Stephanie Bodenheimer and 4 great grandchildren; Nieces: Renee Wilson, V. Anna Cooper and Pam Magee. Wanda graduated from Plano High School in 1951 and received an Associates degree in Business from Dallas County Community College District. She retired from Richardson ISD in 1998 after 28 years of faithful service. Wanda served in Christian ministries throughout her life. More recently she was a member of Stonebriar Community Church and the Marathon Fellowship class. She discovered a need for ministry to widows and single women in the Marathon class and worked to establish the Women of Worth (WOW) group and served as its initial leader for 10 years. Final Thoughts: “The best thing that ever happened to me was the joy I received from my three precious children throughout life even until the very end of my life.” Regarding friends and family she quoted the statement from Flavia Weedn that,” Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same.” Wanda said, “I want to thank each of you for leaving footprints on my heart.” Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4:00 -6:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:00AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
