William Robert Aufricht's Obituary
William R. Aufricht was born in Rusk, Texas on December 22nd, 1923, died in Southlake on Jan 22nd, 2016. Graduated from Rusk High School and the University of Texas, where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1948. During World War II, he served as a Naval Aviator retiring after the war with the rank of Lieutenant (J.G.). He was employed as a field engineer with Core Laboratories, Inc. in Houston in 1948. He remained employed by Core Lab for 41 years serving in Houston, Dallas and Calgary, Canada. He was President of Core Laboratories, Canada, Ltd from 1963 – 1972 and retired from the parent company in 1986 as President and CEO. He was a member of various honorary fraternities, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Las Colinas Country Club and the Dallas Petroleum Club. He served on the Irving School Board from 1958 until 1962 and was on the Board of Directors of Greenwich Oil Company and the M Bank of Irving. William R Aufricht was an avid fisherman, hunter, bridge player, gardener and golfer. He traveled the world over, lived life to the fullest and was adored by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha; two sons, Matt and Cody; daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Peggy; six grandchildren, Lindsey, James, Jacqueline, William, Graham and Madeleine and two great grandchildren, Lilah and Matteo. Services will be held at Schreiber Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday January 29th: Visitation at 11:30 am, Funeral Service at 12:00 with reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Schreiber Memorial United Methodist Church or The Alzheimer’s Association.
