William Alin Bonds
March 16, 1926 – May 27, 2020
William Alin Bonds, a third generation and lifetime resident of Dallas died on May 27, 2020 after a brief illness of cancer. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia, and son Bobby and daughter in law, Jean and preceded in death by his parents and son, William Louis Bonds. Mr. Bonds was born March 16, 1926. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and then earned four degrees at SMU. During WWII he served on a submarine in the US Navy. Later, he became involved in the lumber business, land development and building industry. He volunteered his services to the City of Dallas in numerous commissions and boards and also to the Home and Apartment Builders serving as President and receiving the Hugh Prather Trophy in 1979. For over 25 years, Mr. Bonds was very active as a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America and was recognized with the Silver Beaver Award. He was an active member of Scofield Memorial Church. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Dallas. In lieu of flowers – please make donations to the charity of your choice.
