William L . "Dub" Clay's Obituary
William L. "Dub" Clay departed this earth unexpectedly on October 27, 2020 at the age of 84. A native of Winnsboro, Texas, he was the youngest son of Roger and Jewell Clay.
He started his career with the Richardson Independent School District after earning a Bachelor of Science and Master's in Education From East Texas State University in 1966. After several years in the classroom, he moved on to assistant principalships at Westwood Jr. High School, Richardson High School, Berkner High School, and retired from Pearce High School in 2001. Dub loved everything associated with education, including the professionalism of the teachers, the comradery with the other principals, and especially watching the students in his span of care grow to be young adults.
In retirement, he cherished caring for his mother, sisters, and wife, Sammie.
Dub is survived by his son Alan, two sisters Wanda Jo Taylor of Alba, Texas and Pam Keith of Winnsboro, Texas, brother Cleveland of Whitehouse, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Sammie Whitesides Clay and oldest son David Clay.
