William Carlisle Early's Obituary
William Carlisle (Bill) Early, born April 24, 1938 in Waco, Texas, passed away in Dallas, Texas on March 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen M. and Jeannette B. Early. He is survived by his foster brother Franz Helbig of Berlin, Germany, son Edward (Ted) Early of San Antonio, Texas, seven grandchildren – James, Nicole, John, Thomas, Peter, Paul, and Felicia – and five great-grandchildren – Lucy, Lucas, Linus, Jude, and Laura. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Dallas, where he excelled in basketball, and received bachelors and masters degrees in architecture from Texas Tech University and Columbia University, respectively. He was employed at architecture firms in Dallas and Denver, Colorado specializing in commercial and government projects. He was also involved in residential design, notably in Santa Cruz, California. Upon retiring, he traveled extensively in his self-customized blue Chevy van around the United States visiting friends and family. An accomplished artist, he produced over two hundred original pieces in a variety of media, including a series of watercolors of architecturally distinctive Texas courthouses. He was a self-described architect, artist, traveler, and observer of human behavior. Visitation service for William Early will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Colonial Gardens in Restland Memorial Park. Graveside service for William Early will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Colonial Gardens in Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
