William Henry Griffin's Obituary
William Henry “Bill” Griffin was born in Harlingen, Texas on May 16, 1953 and passed in Richardson, Texas on June 19, 2017. He is survived by his sisters Barbara Griffin and Carolyn Williams (Rick), his nieces and nephews Lauren Carroll (Trevor), Lindsey Hedgpeth (Brian), Christine Selvidge, and Mike Williams (Sara), grandnieces and grandnephews Elise Selvidge, Sammy Selvidge, Kaylee Williams, Aubree Williams, Harrison Carroll and Johnna Hedgpeth, aunt Lannie MacMillan (Mac), and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Louise Williams Griffin and Henry Porter Griffin, Jr. and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He appreciated all of his relatives who greatly enriched his life. Bill grew up in Harlingen and graduated from Harlingen High School and the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors of Administration in Accounting. During his career as a Certified Public Account, he worked for several firms and retired from BKD, LLP in 2015. He enjoyed participating in the Texas Society of CPAs and the Margarita Society exemplifying his commitment to giving back to his profession and his community. He was well respected in the community. Bill also enjoyed music in all forms. He played in small rock bands during high school and continued satisfying his interest by attending concerts regularly. Most of all, Bill had fun meeting and greeting new friends and partying with friends and family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 5:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. Another memorial service will be held in the Valley in late July 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Margarita Society, the charity of your choice, or any cause you wish. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
