William Richard Jones 's Obituary
William Richard Jones, 77, of Dallas, Texas died May 18, 2020. He was born August 23, 1942 to Cecil Jones and Corra Mae "Tilly" Jones in Dallas, Texas. He married Mary Alphin-Jones on May 6, 2001 in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Hillcrest H.S. in 1960 with honors. He received his Bachelor's degree from University of North Texas in 1964. In 1968, he graduated from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where he was the editor of the SMU Law Review. He spent over 40 years in the legal profession in the Dallas Area and was considered one of the top estate planning attorneys in the area. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 1318, thirty-second degree Master Mason of the Scottish Rite and Hella Shrine Temple. He was an avid model railroad enthusiast and enjoyed traveling the globe and attending theatrical events. He greatly enjoyed his retirement viewing Richard Chambers Lake from his back porch. He is survived by his wife Mary Alphin-Jones of Dallas, Texas. In addition, he is survived by his daughter Tracey Pinkston and granddaughter Lauren Pinkston of Florida, daughter Marquita Gordon of Farview, Texas, grandchildren Hunter Gordon, Charity Miller, Chase Gordon, and Heather Gordon, daughter Sarah Post and spouse Gary of Fort Worth, Texas and grandsons Matthew and Trevor Czizek. Daughter Kimberly McMillan and spouse Mike of Denton, Texas, and grandchildren Chance McMillan, Tarayn Austin, and Payton McMillan. Daughter Nicole Alphia Bartholow and spouse Bradley of Dallas, Texas. Daughter Heather Hartgrove Ferrerro and spouse Rey of Oklahoma. Son Todd Hartgrove and spouse Kira of Dallas, Texas. Son Donald Robert Fox of Hillsdale, Michigan and grandson Nicolas Fox. Great-granddaughter Emery McMillan. Beloved dog Gandalf. Donations can be sent to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital and St Jude's Children's Hospital. In a celebration of life please send plants in lieu of flowers. Memorial services will be arranged at a later date.
