William Earle Thompson's Obituary
William Earle Thompson passed away in route to Methodist Hospital in Richardson Texas after falling at home on May 22, 2020. He is survived by his mother, Janis; his two brothers, Greg and Glen; his sister-in-law, Teresa; his nephews, Kyle and spouse Sharon, Matthew, and Quinn; his niece, Sara and spouse Danny.
Will grew up in Midland Texas where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1986. He attended Texas A&M University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Business at Southwest Texas State University in 1991. He pursued a career in marketing where he thrived for over 20 years receiving multiple achievement awards for outstanding performance.
Will had a competitive spirit that he channeled into a life-long love of sports, Texas A&M, the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and of course the Dallas Cowboys. I think if you polled his closest friends the Aggies probably trumped the Cowboys. In addition to sports, Will’s passions included his dogs, golf, traveling, cooking, landscaping, and all things New Orleans. He loved his family, was an ambassador to our extended family, and he cared deeply what others thought of him. He was one of those rare people that seemed to know everyone and everyone him. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a courageous soul, a spirited prankster, and to those who lived in the neighborhood in our little corner of Midland Texas all those years ago – a life-long friend.
He was a soaring dove confined to a human body and after 52 years his constraints on this earthly life have been lifted. He will be dearly missed, forever remembered, and unceasingly celebrated.
Outdoor services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Restland Memorial Park.
