William Parker Washington's Obituary
Bill was 83 years of age at the time of his death. He resided in Irving, Texas. He passed away January 18, 2017 at his home in Irving. He was born February 21, 1933 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Edward Washington and mother Katherine Fay Eidelbach. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Nola Nadine Washington, children Carol Lontos, Brenda Riechle, Marsha Gentry, Laura Washington, Bob Washington, Bill Washington, Jr., 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren plus 2 on the way, and 4 great great grandchildren. Bill attended Margaret B. Henderson Elementary, W.E. Greiner Middle School, Sunset High School, and graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in Engineering. He worked with multiple defense contractors over his career in mechanical engineering. He was drafted in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and stationed in Germany. Bill enjoyed coaching and playing soccer, and liked to golf. He was a DoItYourselfer before DYI was cool. He loved music and a good joke (especially if he was telling it). The family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. The service for William will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2017 in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
